Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Coracao ("we", "us"), the operator of coracao.ai. By creating an account, creating a story, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Coracao.ai.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if older) to create an account or buy from us. Coracao.ai is meant to be used by adults. Children should not use it themselves.
• You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens in your account. Tell us right away at support@coracao.ai if you think someone else has accessed it.
• Please give us accurate information, especially your email and shipping address.

3. Your photos & consent

When you upload a photo or describe a real person, you confirm that:

• you are the parent or legal guardian of any child shown or described, or you have the permission of that child's parent or guardian;
• any adult shown or described has agreed to be included;
• you own the photo or have the right to use it for this purpose; and
• using it to create your book doesn't break any law or anyone else's rights (such as privacy, publicity or copyright).

We use your photos only as described in our Privacy Policy, that is, only to make and deliver your book. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

4. Acceptable use

Coracao.ai is for creating warm, family-friendly stories. You agree not to use it to:

• upload photos of people without the permission described above, or photos of anyone you intend to embarrass, harass or harm;
• create sexual, violent, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise harmful content, and never any content that sexualizes or endangers a minor;
• impersonate others, or create content that infringes someone else's intellectual property (for example, copyrighted characters you have no right to use);
• break the law, or try to hack, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or get around the security or usage limits of the service.

We may refuse to generate, print or deliver content that we reasonably believe breaks these rules, and we may report content that endangers a child to the appropriate authorities.

5. AI-generated content

Stories and illustrations are created with artificial intelligence, based on what you provide. That means:

• Illustrations are artistic interpretations inspired by your reference photos and descriptions. They won't be exact likenesses, and details such as hair, clothing, skin tone or settings may vary from page to page.
• AI can occasionally make mistakes, such as odd details, spelling slips or inconsistencies. Please read your preview carefully before buying, and use the retouch tools to fix pages you're not happy with. You are responsible for reviewing your book before you order a printed copy.
• Stories are for entertainment. They are not educational, medical or professional advice.
• Because each book is generated fresh, we can't guarantee that a specific result can be reproduced.

6. Prices & payment

• Current prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout. Prices are in USD. Shipping for printed books is calculated at checkout from your address and the shipping speed you choose. Any applicable taxes are whatever checkout shows for that order.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By paying, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method for the total shown.
• We may change prices at any time, but the price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order.
• If a price is clearly listed in error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

7. Digital delivery

• The Digital Edition is a downloadable PDF of your finished, fully illustrated book. After payment, your illustrations are completed (usually within minutes) and the PDF is available from your library on coracao.ai.
• Every printed Keepsake Book order includes the Digital Edition at no extra cost.
• Please download and keep a copy. We'll keep your book in your library while your account is active, but we can't guarantee indefinite storage.
• Because the Digital Edition is personalized and delivered immediately, you agree that delivery begins as soon as illustration starts after payment. Refunds for digital books are covered in section 9.

8. Printing & shipping

• Printed Keepsake Books are printed to order by our print partner, Lulu Press, Inc., and shipped to the address you provide. The destinations and speeds offered are the ones shown at checkout.
• Timing: print and delivery times depend on the option shown at checkout. Order early for the holidays.
• Your address: please double-check it. Contact support@coracao.ai if a book was sent to an address you entered incorrectly.
• Changes and cancellations: email support@coracao.ai as soon as you can if you need to change or cancel a print order. Once a book has gone to production, we may not be able to change it.
• Duties and taxes: where a book crosses a border, any import duties or fees charged by the destination country are the recipient's responsibility unless they were collected at checkout.
• Once a printed book is handed to the carrier, the carrier handles delivery.

9. Problems with an order

Every book is personalized. If something is wrong with an order, email support@coracao.ai and we will look at it.

Printed books

• If a book arrives damaged or does not arrive, email us with your order email and a short description of what happened. We will review the order with our print partner.
• A spelling or illustration that was already in the preview you approved is not a printing error. You can still write to us.

Digital books

• If a digital book fails to generate or the PDF will not download, email support@coracao.ai and we will look into it.

If a refund is issued, it goes back to the original payment method. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

10. Ownership & licence

• Your content: you keep ownership of the photos, names and ideas you give us. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use them only to create, edit, store, print and deliver your book and to support you, for as long as needed for those purposes.
• Your book: as between you and us, we assign to you whatever rights we have in the story text and illustrations created for your book, to the extent the law allows. You may keep, print, copy and share your book for personal, family and gift purposes. If you want to sell your book or use it commercially, please contact us first. AI-generated material may not be protected by copyright in some countries, so we can't promise anyone else is prevented from creating something similar.
• Showcasing: we will never use your book, photos or family details in our marketing without your separate, explicit permission.
• Our service: the Coracao.ai name, logo, website, software, designs and templates belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms don't give you any rights to them, except to use the service as intended.

11. Disclaimers

We work hard to make Coracao.ai delightful and reliable, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties beyond those stated in these Terms (including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement), and we don't guarantee the service will always be available, error-free, or that AI output will meet every expectation. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coracao and its owners, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service or an order is limited to the amount you paid us for the order the claim relates to, or CAD $100 if no order is involved. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, for example in cases of fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for your statutory consumer rights.

13. Indemnity

If you upload content you didn't have permission to use, or otherwise break these Terms, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs (including legal fees) arising from that claim, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Suspension & termination

You can stop using Coracao.ai and delete your account at any time by emailing support@coracao.ai. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put children or others at risk. If we close your account without cause, we'll give you a reasonable chance to download your purchased books. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) survive termination.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any rights you have under your local consumer laws to bring a claim where you live, you and we agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario. Please contact us first. Most problems can be solved quickly by email.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email. Changes won't apply to orders placed before they take effect. If you keep using the service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
